Knobby Apple Cake
An old-fashioned recipe from New England. It is very easy to make and
keeps well. Serve unfrosted or with whipped cream or ice cream. This recipe
was given to me by a wonderful friend who lived her whole life on Cape Cod.

Old Fashioned Cookies
Family and vintage recipes
1 c sugar
1/2 stick butter
1 egg beaten with fork
3 c diced peeled apples (1/2 inch cubes)
1/4 c chopped nuts
1 t vanilla
1/2 t baking powder 1/2 t baking soda
1/2 t cinnamon 1/2 t nutmeg
1/2 t salt
1 c flour
Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten egg. Add apples, nuts,
vanilla, and sifted dry ingredients. Bake in 8 inch square pan,
350 degrees for 40 minutes.
